* * * * The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Montana Mental Health Nursing Care Center as an Administrative Assistant. * The Montana Mental Health Nursing Care Center (MMHNCC) provides nursing and psychiatric care for persons with a mental disorder that renders them unable to be served appropriately in a community setting. It is licensed as a 100-bed nursing facility. *The Administrative Clerkperforms secretarial and receptionist duties for various staff under the supervision of the Facility Administrator. The Position is the initial contact for callers and visitors to the facility during business hours. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * * Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Behaviors): Required for thefirst day of work: · Knowledge of computers and skill in use of word processing software. · Knowledge of office practices and telephone etiquette; spelling, composition, and grammar. · Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. · Typing speed of 60wpm. · Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. · Ability to follow oral and written instructions explicitly. · Ability to organize and prioritize and maintain concentration and direction in a disruptive environment. · Maintain effective internal and external working relationships and deal efficiently and effectively with the public and service providers. * * Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience) * High school diploma or equivalent * 1 to 2 years of job-related work experience in a nursing home or hospital setting Physical and Environmental Demands: · Lift 20 pounds frequently/50 pounds occasionally · Carry 20 pounds occasionally · Push/pull up to 30 pounds · Reach forward and below frequently/above shoulders occasionally · Handle/grasp up to 90% of shift · Work in confined area with other employees and many interruptions · May be subject to verbal and/or physical abuse from residents · Maintains proper security of clients, facilities, and other staff. · Reports all hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisory staff/maintenance for repair or control measures. * * How to Apply To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website.
