BENCHMARK MASONRY INC Journeyman Mason in LEWISTOWN, Montana

Full Time position

WAGE: Pay is calculated using a scale based on aptitude and skill

DUTIES:

Participate and collaborate with the crew during daily meetings to ensure safety, quality and productivity goals are set

Ensure proper installation of wall ties, flashings and laps of paper to job specific standards

Measure distance from reference points and mark guidelines to lay out work

Shape brick, block, or stone in preparation for final setting with use of chisels and/or power saws

Spread mortar over brick, block, or stone and foundation with trowel and set masonry in place by hand or with aid of a forklift or a crane

Fasten or fuse brick or other building material to structure with wire clamps, anchors, or cement

Remove excess mortar and finish mortar joints with jointing tools

Construct corners by building a corner lead of bricks, and filling in between the corners using a line from corner to corner to guide each course

Lay and align bricks, blocks, or tiles to build or repair structures

Other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Superintendent

Complete work safely, with quality and within productivity specifications as directed by the Foreman or Superintendent

Must observe all safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Journeyman Mason must be able to work with brick, block and/or stone completing custom work on distinctive projects.

Must have 3-5 years of equivalent work experience.

Above average skill and speed in laying brick, block and/or stone. Must be able to follow instructions precisely, and work with others in an organized manner.

Required to provide own masonry tools.

Saws and Personal Protective Equipment will be supplied.

Must be reliable and hardworking.

Required to have valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Work in high, precarious places such as scaffolding and ladders.

Work in outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat or cold.
