NEXUS TREATMENT FACILITY Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC) in LEWISTOWN, Montana

Full time position

WAGE: DOE

The Licensed Addictions Counselor for NEXUS provides group and individual chemical dependency programming services to clients in a modified therapeutic community setting. NEXUS is a six to nine-month, intensive, cognitive-behavioral based addictions treatment community assisting Family Members (offenders) to develop those skills necessary to create pro-social change, reduce anti-social thinking, criminal behavior patterns, and the negative effects of methamphetamine addictions while integrating more fully into society.

DUTIES:

  1. Attends family treatment meetings and makes reports and recommendations as necessary.

  2. Evaluates individual family members and the treatment family to determine level of chemical dependency programming necessary.

  3. Assists family members in developing individualized programming plan.

  4. Conducts group chemical dependency programming as required.

  5. Conducts individual counseling as well as other classes relating to self-esteem, chemical dependency education, and all other components related to the NEXUS Program.

  6. Makes referrals to appropriate aftercare providers.

  7. Attends program and NEXUS staff meetings as necessary.

  8. Documents all sessions, progress, and significant issues in appropriate client files.

  9. Meets with the Treatment Supervisor of the NEXUS Program weekly and provides oral and written reports as required.

  10. Completes and maintains in a timely manner all documents, forms, and paperwork as determined by appropriate personnel and corporate policy

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree in an appropriate Behavioral Science field and at least one (1) year of experience working with adult offenders in a correctional facility

Montana State Licensure as an Addictions Counselor.

Experience working in a residential treatment facility and experience working in a therapeutic community is preferred.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Ability to assess priorities and work well under pressure; excellent time-management, problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to work with contacts, the public, co-workers professionally and tactfully.
