Wage: $20-$26/hr

Position Overview:

POSITION OVERVIEW The Welder is responsible for performing welding operations to fabricate and assemble metal parts according to project specifications. This role requires a high level of adaptability, attention to detail, and a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding operations (MIG, TIG, and other relevant techniques) on various metals, including aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. Follow blueprints, CAD models, and other data sets to accurately fabricate parts and assemblies.

Assembly and Fit-Up: Assemble complex components and ensure proper alignment, fit, and finish. Use tools, fixtures, and jigs to aid in the welding and assembly process, ensuring final assemblies meet design and quality standards.

Quality Assurance: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections on welds to meet quality standards. Work to ensure that all welds are structurally sound, aesthetically pleasing, and free from defects.

Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, looking for ways to improve welding techniques, efficiency, and product quality. Actively participate in team discussions focused on enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

Problem Solving and Adaptation: Collaborate with engineering and design teams to overcome welding challenges, and make real-time adjustments to account for unique materials, part features, or new design requirements.

Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment, ensuring functionality and safety. Report issues requiring further maintenance promptly.

Safety: Follow all safety protocols and company policies, ensuring a clean and organized work area to promote a safe manufacturing environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

1-year experience as a welder in a manufacturing or custom fabrication environment, with proficiency in MIG, TIG, and other welding techniques.

Ability to interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents.

Skilled in working with a variety of metals and thicknesses, with strong attention to detail and finish.

Knowledge of welding safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the flexibility to adapt to custom project requirements.

Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and quality standards.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position works indoors with exposure to moderate-to-loud noise.
