Cabinet Peaks Medical Center Certified Nurse's Assistant, Full Time in Libby, Montana

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for a Certified Nurse's Assistant to join our Acute Care/Medical-Surgical Team!

The CNA assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse as well as has knowledge of age specific population and competencies defined by the department and utilizes this information in the overall care of the patients.

Major Job Duties & Responsibilities

Demonstrates communication by clearly conveying information and ideas through appropriate mechanisms in a way that engages people and helps them understand and retain the message.

Demonstrates ability to communicate to the RN any observed changes in a patient’s status and responses.

Communicates appropriately and clearly to co-workers and Providers.

Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health errors. Supports a culture of safety and quality.

Demonstrates work standards and accountability of conduct by setting high standards of performance for self and others; assumes responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks.      

Assists in admission, transfer and discharge of a patient.

Performs waived testing (point-of-care testing) per Clinical Laboratory’s and the unit’s policies and procedures.

Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age.

Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.

Documents to current standards and policies. Completes this within the shift.

Accompanies patients on transports via ambulance, wheelchair or shuttle bus to Libby Care Center when necessary

Demonstrates the safety standard of conduct by familiarizing him or herself with policies and procedures, practicing personal and patient safety consistently and reporting any and all safety hazards and/or violations.

Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care.

Adheres to Cabinet Peaks Medical Center confidentiality policies and procedures.

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

Basic computer knowledge.

Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Must be self directed, able to complete outlined tasks without needing to be prompted.

Education Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent.

Current MT CNA license.

BLS certification preferred; must obtain within 3 months of hire.

Experience

6 months to 1 year of related work experience preferred, not required.

Schedule

Shifts/hours may vary and should be confirmed with the Acute Care Manager.

Might include nights, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
