Cabinet Peaks Medical Center Credentialing Coordinator/Credit Collection Specialist,Full Time in Libby, Montana

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for a Credit Collection Specialist to join our Patient Business Services Team!

Function as a liaison between patients, other providers, third party agencies, and CPMC departments regarding billing questions, payment issues, and other insurance related inquiries. Facilitate and expedite collection of the self pay accounts receivables via telephone, written documentation, e-mail inquiries, and/or personal visitations with the goal of ensuring patient satisfactions

Major Job Duties & Responsibilities

Function as a liaison between patients, other providers, third party agencies, and the CPMC departments regarding billing questions, payment issues, and other insurance related inquiries.

Facilitate and expedite collection of the self pay accounts receivables via telephone, written documentation, e-mail inquiries, and\or personal visitations with the goal of ensuring patient satisfaction.

Demonstrate a complete working knowledge and understanding of the Patient Accounting and Self Pay AR system software. This includes, but not limited to: enter and edit insurance data, queue claims for billing, edit insurance balances, reverse and re-batch transactions, enter reminders and comments, and stratifies daily work activity by using the accounts worked tracker.

Review all self-pay accounts for collectability by assisting patients in making payment arrangements per company policy.

Ensure accuracy and timeliness in all phases of the billing and collections processes. Good communication and willingness to assist others outside of the scope of their job description in order to provide the best customer service for our patients.

Actively manage and work aging. Enter detailed documentation of any and all activity on patient accounts in the appropriate notes sections.

Identify problems and trends with customer accounts and proactively seeks solutions.

Process adjustments and refunds in accordance with CPMC polices and procedures, when appropriate and necessary.

Maintain a professional, positive and “team-player” attitude.

Assist in facilitating the Financial Assistance application process for patients when appropriate.

Works and actively collects on Client aging. Developing a strong working relationship with the clients, the CPMC OHS department.

Develops and trains Patient Financial Services Self Pay Account Representatives. Ensuring that a cross training is completed to prevent backlog of duties during absence of staff.

Pursue and participate in education to remain current with changes in the Healthcare industry.

Review and respond to correspondence related to patient accounts. Remains available to assist in full self pay account representative capacity.

Assists Revenue Cycle Manager in monitoring, and evaluating assigned staff. This is done in an objective and appropriate manner.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, CPMC staff members, and the public.

Proficient computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet software; Meditech knowledge preferred.

Basic Knowledge of accounting and ten-key by touch.

Verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Ability to operate basic office equipment.

Experience

Preferred 1 year experience

Educational Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent education

Schedule

Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m. – 8 hour shifts
