Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for an Imaging Coordinator to join our Imaging Team!
Imaging Coordinator is an experienced, compassionate coordinator to facilitate tracking and scheduling of Mammography exams under the guidance of the Lead Mammography Technologist. This role is responsible for the mammography tracking and reporting computer system, preparing studies with the PACS system, and including obtaining and downloading prior imaging studies. The Coordinator works closely with the technologists, sonographers, radiologists, and the manager to maintain the highest level of quality in mammography. The Imaging Coordinator will work closely with the Imaging staff to streamline the process of patient preparation and transportation of the patient to minimize patient throughput.
Major Job Duties & Responsibilities
Perform data entry and operate mammography reporting system, entering patients demographics, examination results, and verify proper reporting and tracking of exams.
Maintains mammography department staffs CEU's and current licenses.
Contacts and schedules patients needing routine and follow follow-up examinations, wait list appointments, reschedules, and other appointments following template guidelines for length of time, time of day, and appointment type while following established protocols.
Answer incoming calls and respond to all patient interactions professionally with tact, patience, and compassion according to established protocols.
Take messages that are accurate, legible, complete with names, dates, time, phone number, and correct route to appropriate person.
Monitor phone cancellations, update technologists’ schedules, and communicate with appropriate staff.
Facilitates obtaining imaging studies from outside facilities prior to appointment date.
Printing and mailing appropriate letters, instructions, and reminders to patients as necessary.
Obtain prior studies from the PACS system within network.
Retrieves prior studies from the PACS system and ensures the study can be displayed.
Scanning appropriate paperwork in the PACS system.
Administrative duties as related to the tracking of MRI devices under the direction of the MRI technologist.
Retrieves patients as needed from the acute care floor, ED and out-patient locations.
Provides administrative/ scheduling duties, as needed, in connection with the front desk scheduling responsibilities of the department – alongside or in the absence of imaging scheduler.
Other Imaging related duties as needed to accommodate the flow of patients and accompany technologists.
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
Typing skills of at least 40 wpm.Proficient in Office 365.Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service. Must be able to adjust working pace to flow of patients.Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Experience
Medical terminology as related to imaging exams is essential. Must attain Medical Terminology course within 3 months.
Minimum of one year in a customer service position, preferably in a healthcare environment.
Educational Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8-4:30pm
