Cabinet Peaks Medical Center Imaging/X-Ray Technologist, PRN in Libby, Montana

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for an Imaging/X-Ray Technologist to join our Orthopedics Clinic!

Under the supervision of the Medical Group Manager and under the general direction of the Orthopedic Surgeon, with direction from the Imaging Medical Director as necessary, performs quality and complete imaging procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. The Imaging Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with the interdepartmental personnel. The Technologist is responsible for providing patient education, quality patient care, and will meet all regulatory compliance requirements. This is not a comprehensive job description, and other duties or responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Major Job Duties & Responsibilities

Produces quality exams within assigned modalities and assigned areas, including, but not limited to, C-Arm, U-Arm, and X-ray. Applies principles of radiation protection, choice of protocol, knowledge of anatomy and pathology.

Maintains patient records and files, as appropriate. Properly navigates PACS. Provides accurate history, completed forms, and appropriate documentation of each exam performed.

Actively participates in departmental quality assurance program including preventative maintenance and other quality measures.

Practices patient safety including correct patient identification, safe transfers, radiation safety, standard precautions, infection control, fall prevention, and other patient safety measures.

Follows appropriate rules of punctuality, share in equal shift rotation, and modality coverage.

Performs other duties as requested by Manager.

Follows departmental policies and procedures.

May need to prepare and administer contrast media through IV or other routes.

Provides instruction and supervision to radiologic technologist students who are fulfilling their clinical requirements at CPMC.

Provides administrative duties, as needed, in connection with the front desk responsibilities of the department – alongside or in the absence of the receptionist.

Maintains competency in Radiographic Procedures.

May provide additional support to both the clinical MA and Athletic trainer as requested by the manager.

Must be willing to learn additional modalities as necessary to meet the needs of the organization.

Schedule

Primarily day shifts but may change in accordance with departmental needs.

Educational Requirements

Technologist must be a HS graduate or equivalent and have completed an accredited program in radiologic technology.

Technologist must be registered as a radiologic technologist through ARRT.

BLS required.

Experience

Able to show competency in performing all exams required in assigned modalities).
