Job Title: Lincoln County Outreach CoordinatorReports to: Executive DirectorWage: $20 to $23 per hour depending on experienceBenefits:Paid Time Off and 10 Paid Holidays, prorated for half time employees; retirement plan availableClassification: Part-time, 20 hours per week, year roundLocation:Based in Lincoln County, MT (remote)Start Date:November 2024Job ScopeThe Lincoln County Outreach Coordinator will provide leadership, coordination, and oversight of the Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness (FSPW) outreach and community building efforts with a focus on Lincoln County, Montana. We’re looking for an individual with a connection to these landscapes and a passion for conservation. Applicants should demonstrate an ability to manage logistics, volunteers, and materials with an eye to detail. We are looking for someone with exceptional written and oral communication skills. This person must enjoy building connections with a wide range of people.Outreach, Education, and Community Engagement 80%•Manage outreach events in Lincoln County; give presentations as needed•Work closely with partners to plan and implement the annual Kootenai Harvest Fest•Attend and participate in partner meetings and events•Represent FSPW at a variety of community and collaborative meetings•Coordinate and execute Winter Tracks Youth Education events in Lincoln County•Coordinate volunteer-led group hikes and outdoor education events•Support FSPW’s annual high school scholarship program•Support other youth outdoor education and outreach programs•Support for our trail stewardship program in MontanaCommunications 15%•Develop press releases and listserv messages for Lincoln County•Assist with development of content for website and social media channels•Distribute newsletters, maps, and other collateral materials in local areaFundraising and Development 5%•Support Montana-focused grant applications, reporting, and tracking•Support fundraising effortsPrimary Qualifications•Self-motivated and outgoing; willing to initiate contact with community members, media members, businesses, and partner organizations•Ability to manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously•Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members•Attention to detail and strong organization skills•Aptitude for working well with others•Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage several tasks at once•Strong written, oral communication, and presentation skills•Adept at learning new technology quickly•Proficient with Microsoft 365 and G-Suite•Connections to the communities of Troy, Libby, and other NW Montana communities•Passion for Wilderness and/or conservation of public landsSecondary Qualifications•Experience coordinating event logistics•Experience collaborating with colleagues and other stakeholder groups•Understanding of effective communication strategies•Experience with cloud-based file storage and other work flow programs•Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software•Previous non-profit experience preferred•Bachelor’s degree preferredApplication ProcessIn a single PDF, send a cover letter, resume, and three references (contact information and relationship) to info@scotchmanpeaks.org.
