Cabinet Peaks Medical Center Medical Office Coordinator, Full Time in Libby, Montana

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for an Medical Office Coordinator to join our Surgery Clinic!

The Medical Office Coordinator (MOC) provides service to patients of Cabinet Peaks Clinics through referral coordinator, VA authorization, coordination and follow up. The MOC is primarily responsible for the processing and coordination of patient referrals, all incoming and outgoing. The MOC assists providers and patients when necessary with the referral process for specialty care, diagnostic services, to ensure continuity of care utilizing the various protocols required by health plans and other contracts. The MOC also serves as the liaison for clinical support staff.

Major Job Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals.

Be the navigator and point of contact for patients and families, with patients and families having direct access for asking questions and raising concerns regarding their referrals.

Obtain visit notes for appointments attended by our referred patients.

Provide day to day support of front office staff. Will assume the role of front office reception on an as needed basis.

Review details and expectations about the referral with patients.

Obtain and process authorizations for VA patients

Manage and maintain VA authorizations. Communicate this information to patient, clinical and front office staff.

Ensure that patient's chart is up to date with information on specialist consult reports. Specialty consults must be requested within a specific time period, as per clinic policy.

Accept and act upon all duties and/ or projects assigned by Management to the best of his/her ability

Develop and sustain effective relationships with stakeholders to include: patient, internal customers, employees, providers, vendors and administration. Work closely with all entities of the hospital and area physician office and clinics

Complete other tasks as assigned.

Is the primary support for clinic support staff in regards to administrative reporting optimization and organization. Assists as needed in the process improvement.

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, CPMC staff members, and the public.

Proficient computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet software; Meditech knowledge preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Knowledge of medical terminology and third party payor methodology is desired.

Ability to operate basic office equipment.Knowledge of medical office operations.

Experience

5 years medical office experience preferred.

Educational Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.

BLS certification preferred; must obtain within 3 months of hire.

Two or more year’s progressive management experience in related setting preferred.
