Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for a Medical Office Coordinator to join our Orthopedic Clinic!
The Medical Office Coordinator will work closely with physicians and Clinic Manager to understand the needs, implement change, and continuously improve patient care. Work collaboratively with Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, RNs, LPNs, MAs and other department staff to meet the needs of our patients. Responsible for patient flow for providers as necessary through telephone response, triage, exam and procedure assistance, patient education, and direct communication with both the provider and Practice Administrator. Assists in direct patient care as needed. Additionally, the Coordinator-will be responsible for oversite of EHR workflow optimization, further development of patient registries and clinical quality metric objectives, training and oversite of clinical support staff, continuing education for clinical support staff, monthly audits of clinical workflows. 75% of duties will be related to direct patient care.
Major Job Duties & Responsibilities
Provides patient care which includes rooming patients, completing necessary vital signs, recording accurate information into the electronic medical record and other duties as assigned by the physician.
Performs all essential job functions of an X-ray technologist. Refer to Imaging Technologist – X-Ray JD-PE 1/11/2023.
Assists the physician with procedures. Prior to any procedure they must ensure that the appropriate consent has been obtained.
Performs tests as directed by the providers (within the scope of practice).
Completes monthly duties (i.e. check out dates, stocking rooms, sample drug closet, crash cart) as assigned in a timely manner to maintain practice compliance with rules and regulations.
Manages care issues that are within the scope of practice such as suture/staple removal, dressing changes, injections, application/removal of braces/casts, etc.
Communicates appropriately and clearly to administration, co-workers, and providers.
Ensures that all instruments are properly handled and sterilized and that all rooms are fully stocked at the end of the day. Supplies are to be ordered in a timely manner so that patient care is never impacted.
Demonstrates leadership to clinic support staff by leading, monitoring and directing patient care. Ensuring that a high quality of care, and professionalism is maintained by all clinical support staff.
All medical information that is gathered by the clinical coordinator needs to be accurately and timely placed in the EMR system. Clinical coordinator needs to be functional within the current EMR environment.
Manages workflow, follow-up calls and questions from patients within the scope of practice.
Performs all aspects of patient care within an environment which optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical or health errors, all while supporting a culture of safety and confidentiality.
Ensures that all lab specimens are taken to the lab by the end of each business day and that no labs are left overnight in the office.
Ensures that all equipment is handled in a safe and correct manner.
Participates in monthly staff meetings, training sessions, and annual education sessions, disaster drills, etc.
Triage patient phone calls and walk in patients to assess appropriateness and urgency of patient assistance/scheduling.
Works collaboratively with the providers and clinical staff to facilitate Collaborative Care Management, Chronic Care Management, and Transitional Care Management.
Serves as a clinical resource and professional role model to other clinical support staff.
Assist Manager/Administrator with development of practice policies and procedures.
Provides patient education regarding disease processes, therapies, and healthful behaviors.
Assumes primary role in developing and continuing the job training for new, non-certified medical assistants.

Knowledge of government and reimbursement regulations and requirements including HIPAA.
Excellent verbal, analytical, and conflict resolution skills, knowledge of business and medical terminology and systems.
Ability to respond quickly and purposefully to routine and unusual situations.Communicates clearly and appropriately with colleagues, peers, supervisors, and medical providers.
Experience
A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an X-ray Technologist preferred.
Preferred six (6) months to one (1) year of related work experience in a previous medical office or other related medical practice.
Educational Requirements
Certified X-ray technologist.
Certifications in BLS required; must obtain within 3 months of hire.
Current ARRT Certification.
MT state license for radiologic technologist.
