Job Description
This position will work interdepartmentally on the key projects as assigned by leadership to ensure on time delivery. Develop new methods, tooling, and machine designs while resolving processing issues/problems. The manufacturing engineer heavily engages in the design, manufacture, and quality assurance of injection molded components and assemblies for the consumer outdoor marketplace while driving efficiency and safety improvements in the factory. Must have the ability to lead projects and work in cross functional teams which is essential. Will provide pertinent guidance to the design activity relative to manufacturing and automation. Facilitates communication relevant to products and impacted teams.
This position reports to the Operations Manager , and is based out of our Manhattan, MT office.
As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will have an opportunity to:
Ensure that all customer requirements are satisfied in Design and implementation.
Design and program automation within the plant to support manufacturing operations.
Work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop designs
Generate work instructions for the manufacturing and test processes
Assist in the preparation of quotations
Coordinate with production on day-to-day activities and problem resolution
Coordinate documentation and data to support hardware
Monitor costs and schedules to meet customer expectations
Assist with the transition of new products to full production readiness and release
Maintain awareness within the Operations Department of program status including, but not limited to, schedule milestone realization, manufacturing labor allocation and status, any and all constraints to manufacturing and test, manufacturing
Perform major equipment and project management assignments including: capital expenditure justification, equipment/process design, source, and implementation as well as project spending, project execution timing, and resource management.
Develop improvements to tooling and processes for the manufacture of existing products by changing specifications and supervising tests concerning product improvement.
Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities such as improved material utilization, increased machine/process efficiency, reduced cost of poor quality, etc.
Review tools and machine part drawings for the necessity of revision on tolerances, surface finishes, dimensions, material selection, etc., and initiates Engineering Change Orders.
Investigates and troubleshoots production difficulties and takes corrective measures.

You have:
Bachelors degree in engineering or related field
Prefer 5+ years experience in a manufacturing\engineering environment
Excellent mathematical, problem solving, written and verbal communications skills
Thorough understanding and broad application of technical standards, principles, theories.
Ability to perform at a high level with minimal supervision and direction
Prefer experience in the design, development, and management of automation
Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and CAD
You might have :
Experience in the design, Installation, and maintenance of automated\robotic systems
Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
Experience with programming, trouble shooting and installation of automation systems such as Fanuc robots
Knowledge and understanding of injection molding processes, tools, and techniques.
Well-rounded knowledge of materials, technologies, and manufacturing techniques
Hands on experience with Six Sigma tools and lean manufacturing concepts
Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Understanding of machine shop technology, tools, and equipment
Experience coordinating with multi-functional teams
Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs
Ability to apply sensor and machine vision technologies for the manufacturing environment
Pay Range:
$73,400.00 - $114,800.00
