Job Information


Use a variety of tools and equipment including but not limited to hand tools and forklift safely and proficiently. Produce results that consistently meet Customer, Manufacturer, AAR/ FRA and TRPI requirements. Learn, comprehend, apply and communicate all AAR, FRA, Customer, Manufacturer and TRPI requirements. Must be knowledgeable in performing Air Brake tests per applicable regulations .and. specs.Education/Experience and other job requirements: High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. Basic reading, writing and math skills are required. Previous experience in a rail car repair, production or physical labor environment preferred. The ability to comprehend mechanical drawings, measurements, torque specifications and PSI is required. The ability to comprehend and apply AAR, FRA, Customer and TRPI requirements. The ability to organize time and priorities. The ability to work overtime and weekends as required.Work Site Environment/Physical requirements: The ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely. The ability to work in adverse weather conditions. All work is performed outdoors. The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials. The ability to work in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 4 ft. off the ground with proper PPE. The ability to sustain mental and visual attention to details for sustained periods of time. Primary work environment subject to extreme heat or cold for considerable amounts of time. Must dress accordingly. Hearing protection shall be required in certain designated areas to noise levels greater than 80 decibels. Scaffolds, floors, ladders and walking surfaces may be uneven.
