REYNOLDS Meat Manager in MILES CITY, Montana

Meat REPORTS TO: Store Leader FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt - Hourly POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the overall operation of the department. Responsibilities include implementation of all company policies, budgets and operating procedures. You must have good organizational skills, an understanding of our guests' needs, work well with others, promote teamwork and communicate well with team members and guests. SAFETY AND SANITATION Is aware of, adheres to, and communicates and trains team members regarding all safety, security and accident prevention procedures including using common sense and good judgment to maintain the highest level of safety for self, other team members and guests. Reports unsafe conditions, uses equipment and materials properly and determines appropriate action within guidelines. Maintains the equipment and physical appearance of the department, including selling and back-room areas, to ensure they meet company maintenance, sanitation and safety standards, as well as the government regulatory agencies' guidelines at all times. Continually assists in maintaining proper physical appearance of outside perimeters of store to ensure cleanliness and safety of all. Knows proper procedures for and immediately reports all equipment problems, spills, accidents or emergencies to the department merchant or a member of the executive staff. Have knowledge of the layout of the store and the location of safety and emergency equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with accuracy and maintain a high level of productivity. Consistently participates in open communication with team members on a regular basis promoting a high level of morale within departments and store. Shares and accepts ideas for department and store profitability and guest service. Continually solicits guest feedback to help improve sales and service. 2. Has knowledge of and complies with all company policies, procedures, programs and directives. Refers to Team Member Handbook continually to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Promotes a harassment-free environment and stays aware of situations that tend to cause a hostile environment or other legal issues within the store. Immediately reports any potential legal concerns to management. 3. Continually strives to build knowledge and skills, both personally and within the department and store through training and education of self and other team members. Attends departmental, store and company meetings as required; contributes to profits and revenues and meets productivity standards. 4. Works with the Store Leader on establishing and monitoring team member work schedules within the department. 5. Instructs and teaches others all fundamentals of the Meat Department operation. This includes guest services, product preparation, packaging, etc. 6. Maintains proper freshness, pricing, code dating, and merchandising of the product in compliance with company policies and procedures. 7. Maintains effective control of products and supplies inventory, keeping in line with established budgets and guidelines. 8. Maintains adequate and appropriate department records at all times. 9. Monitors receiving, storage, pricing and merchandising of all department products giving special attention to shortages and overages and making proper reports. 10. Maintains the highest standards in relation to stock rotation. 11. Helps plan aggressive merchandising programs for increased sales. Assists with implementation and giving ideas for cross merchandising with other departments. 12. Maintains an awareness of competitive activity with the store marketing areas. 13. Helps maintain product and cost control in conjunction with company objectives to maximize department sales and profits and minimize losses. 14. Provides professional example for other store team members to follow. 15. Assumes the responsibilities of the Meat Merchant in her/his absence. POSITION REQUIREMENTS COMMUNICATION: Ability to write, speak, hear and understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to pages, requests, team members and guests. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals. COMPUTER: Basic computer skills required. EDUCATION: High School diploma or general education degree (HiSet); or related job experience and/or training are required. EQUIPMENT: Required to use or operate meat saw, knives, grinder, cubing machine, wrapping machine, slicer, scales, box cutters, two-wheelers, etc. EXPERIENCE: Previous meat department experience and leadership skills required. MATH: Basic math skills using units of money, weight, measurement, volume addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages required. An understanding of gross projections, transmittals, weekly summaries, invoices, transfers, labor goals, inventory, and other paperwork as assigned by store management is required. MINIMUM AGE:18 Years of age.
