Dimension of Job:
The Network Engineer are critical members of the Company’s technology team. of the chief information officer's (CIO's) team. The is a technology professional position that requires an individual with a strong technical background, as well as an ability to work with the IT organization and vendor partners to ensure the reliability, security and resiliency of our data and telecom architecture. This includes maintaining corporate computer network equipment and related components. Installing, monitoring, and maintaining network hardware and software. Maintaining, monitoring and analyzing network performance issues and playing a critical role in network architecture related initiatives.
Responsibilities (These responsibilities will be implemented as job matures)
Establishing and maintaining network performance.
Building net configurations and connections as defined by the organization.
Establishing a networking environment by designing system configuration and participating/directing system installations.
Assisting in defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
Maximizing performance by troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades.
Updating network systems, data servers and network equipment.
Analyzing current data traffic to predict the needs of the network and the organization in the future.
Securing network system by managing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.
Ensuring firewalls and other security equipment are installed and functioning properly
Working closely with trusted support vendors and other internal technology staff.
Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.
Presenting and explaining plans and information regarding computer network systems to management.
Ability to work effectively with business managers, IT Vendor and IT operations staff.
The ability to interact with Stockman personnel, build strong relationships across all business units and organizations.
Strong collaboration skills, with the capability to work well within a team and with minimal supervision.
Project management skills and experience in creating and managing project plans, including budgeting and resource allocation.
Proficiency in performing risk, business impact, control and vulnerability assessments, and in defining treatment strategies.
Strong analytical skills to analyze technology and security requirements and relate them to appropriate security requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
• A minimum of 1 year of IT network experience.
• Cisco hardware and software training and or experience.
• An understanding of operating system internals and network protocols.
• Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills to analyze technology and security requirements.
