MILES CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT Police Officer in MILES CITY, Montana
The employer is hiring for a full-time permanent patrol officer vacancy. Acceptable candidates will be required to complete a hiring process consisting of a structural interview, background investigation, psychological exam, wellness physical exam, criminal history, and police commission interview. Candidate with POST experience will be paid according to the union contract for total years of service. The starting base wage for a patrol officer is $24.80/hr. There is an additional $1.00 per hour for night shifts and .75 cents for afternoon shifts. Officers earn a 5% increase after completing four years of service with an additional 1% of their base wage added per year for longevity. Benefits include a 20-year full retirement at any age with a guaranteed 3% increase in their retirement benefit every year for life, optional DROP plan participation after 20 years of service, 100% health insurance covered for the employee, vacation, sick and comp leave along with a paid membership to one of two fitness clubs in Miles City. Officers are allowed to buildup to 120 hours of comp time and cash it in twice a year, optional deferred comp 457 plan through Nationwide, optional Roth IRA plan participation through Nationwide, $720 a year uniform allowance, vespertine and holiday pay. There are additional stipends for certification and college degrees.
