Stockman Bank of Montana BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER in Missoula, Montana
Position General Responsibilities:
Responsible for extensive customer contact that includes processing customer transactions and selling additional Bank products while protecting Bank assets. It requires extensive product knowledge to support frequent customer contact in the development of new business through the servicing of requests, calling on existing customers, identifying and calling on potential customers and representing the Bank in community activities.

Basic Qualifications:
College degree or equivalency.
Good interpersonal/team skills with ability to develop effective working relationships.
Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Previous personal/computer experience.
New Account/Sales/Service:
Maintain an extensive knowledge of deposits, loans and non-deposit services by studying product information, bulletins, regulations and updates. Attend periodic training sessions and stay abreast of new procedures, marketing techniques, rules and regulations.
Sell multiple financial products and services to new and existing customers by assessing customer needs and determining which financial services best satisfies those needs. Products include all deposit products, financing options, and related service products.
Identify sales opportunities and cross-sell other Bank services as they arise. Refer business consistently.
Refer new accounts to CSR group. Open new accounts as needed.
Sales/Public Relations/New Business Development:
Identify prospective clients and solicit new business including borrowing and depositor relationships.
Thoroughly understand all Bank deposit, non-deposit and loan products with the ability to cross sell to new and existing customers.
Maintain knowledge of competitors’ products and prices and governmental agency programs and prices.
Develop and maintain an effective calling program.
Participate in community events and organizations – leverage participation to generate new business for the Bank.
Promote the improvement of Stockman Bank through quality customer service, knowledge of products, professionalism in conduct, and diligent work ethic.
Greet all customers pleasantly and make them feel welcome and comfortable.
Effectively handle customer questions and problems.
Use effective listening and observing skills to help identify and resolve customer needs.
Identify sales opportunities and refer business consistently to other departments.
Cross-sell other services whenever the opportunity arises.
Keep up-to-date on pricing and products.
Relay customer comments and or complaints to the Operations Officer immediately.
