Volunteers of America Northern Rockies Case Management Support Specialist in Missoula, Montana

Summary/ObjectiveThe Case Manager Support Specialist is responsible for assisting with the Supportive Services of Veteran Families (SSVF) Service Coordinators and a referral source to other agencies.Essential FunctionsAssisting potential clients through the admissions process to include enrollment into the programProvide referrals to other agencies and resources to ineligible personsAssist Service Coordinators in obtaining and reporting necessary program documentationAssist Service Coordinators in client contact, particular in Emergency Housing AssistanceParticipate in coordinated entry and continuum of care coordination activities with other supporting agencies at the state/municipality level.Other duties as assigned.CompetenciesEffective communicator, both written and oralCalm under pressure and in crisisAbility to stay organized and meet tight deadlines with competing prioritiesAbility to interact with persons from a variety of social, economic, educational, and cultural backgroundsAbility to effectively work with a variety of computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, HMIS, and desktop publishingCommunication proficiency and effective communication skills, both oral and written, with co-workers, potential clients, and referral sources in-person and telephone, email, video, and fax.Continuous demonstration of behaviors aligned with a posture of servant leadership and our cultural valuesSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the organization.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptops, photocopiers, and smartphones.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This job's specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to bend or stoop as necessary.
