Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Controller to join our Manufactuing client's team. As an integral part of our finance department, you will work closely with the CFO to ensure accurate financial reporting and provide strategic financial guidance across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish internal procedures to collect relevant data for timely financial statement preparation, in coordination with the CFO.

  • Utilize the latest manufacturing version as part of daily activities.

  • Assist in the upcoming conversion from QuickBooks to NetSuite.

  • Continually assess the adequacy of existing internal controls and procedures.

  • Collaborate with the CFO to gather data for Sales, Costs, and Cash.

  • Ensure proficiency with the latest GAAP requirements.

  • Provide financial guidance and NetSuite system usage assistance to all functions within the organization.

  • Assist with Sales function, including Cost and Margin analysis, and monthly forecasting quantification.

  • Support Operations colleagues with manufacturing variance analysis, inventory control, and shipping/receiving cutoff reviews.

  • Promptly prepare account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of Balance Sheet data.

  • Coordinate timely and accurate activities with HR Function and payroll processing.

  • Lead the annual budget preparation effort across the organization.

  • Coordinate with key manufacturing personnel on the annual physical inventory taking and reconciliation.

  • Ensure cost standards accurately represent Manufacturing Floor activities.

  • Provide management with monthly operating variances and related data.

  • Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements for outside Auditors and assist in their annual review.

  • Create financial PowerPoint slides for quarterly Board of Directors' meetings.

  • Strong analysis and cost accounting background is a must.

  • Perform strategic data interpretation and technical accounting analysis.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 DOE

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPM desired

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting/controller role, preferably in the manufacturing industry, demonstrating a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles.

  • Proven track record in strategic data interpretation, leveraging financial data to drive business decisions and enhance profitability.

  • Strong technical accounting analysis skills, including experience in interpreting and applying accounting standards to complex transactions.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably NetSuite, and QuickBooks, with hands-on experience in utilizing these systems in a manufacturing environment.

  • Thorough understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements, with a focus on applying these principles within the manufacturing sector.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and analysis.
