Position: Director of Asset Management

Location: Corporate Office

Status: Full Time, Salaried (Non-OT Exempt)

Reports To: Vice President

This position is responsible for the direction of the Asset Management Department on a day-to-day and strategic basis. Oversees compliance management.

Job Duties:

Represent Owner in all proceedings. Safeguard the portfolios' assets. Inspect properties and provide reports to executive team. Identify risks and report to executive team (potential lawsuits, poor practices, etc.) Review processes and procedures and identify and report on potential inefficiencies in and risks to the portfolio and the overall organization. Assist in the due diligence and underwriting of potential acquisitions. Identify and report potential efficiencies (insurance, lending, cost savings, etc.) for portfolio and Summit companies. Development and implement Asset Management Operating Procedures. Communicate with investors. Coordinate with Summit Housing, Summit Construction, and Highland Property Management as needed in evaluation of potential investments, processes, and procedures. Propose goals and objectives for each property. Assist in the preparation and approval process of property operating budgets. Report monthly, quarterly and annual on the portfolio. Review monthly property operating statements and budget to actual comparisons. Other duties as assigned.

Contacts and Liaisons:This position comes in contact with the executive team, lenders, investors, insurance agents, vendors, etc. Diplomacy, tact, and a helpful, positive, professional presentation and attitude are required.


Bachelor's Degree required with a concentration in business, finance, accounting and/or real estate.

Knowledge and skills:

Thorough understanding of Real Estate Management and Financial Analysis, along with Debt Workout/Financing experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and computer literacy are a must. Thorough understanding of LIHTC requirements is required.

Computer literacy sufficient to operate spreadsheet and word processing applications (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, Access).

Working knowledge of RealPage/Onesite

Ability to work with financial concepts and perform financial analysis including ROI, IRR and discounted cash flow modeling.

Physical Requirements:

  • 80% office work (meetings, phone, computer, etc.)

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable for company vehicles.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
