Position General Responsibilities:
We are looking to hire an experienced CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ to manage and refine our in-house financial planning system. This position ensures the policies, procedures, processes, and measurements for creating and maintaining comprehensive financial plans are effective and efficient. Typical plans include a balance sheet, cash flow analysis, net worth growth strategies, retirement planning, tax planning, insurance analysis, lending options, mortgage strategies, Social Security claiming strategies, and long-term care analysis. As Director of Financial Planning, you are the heart of our most valuable service offering. You will lead and manage the Financial Planning Committee, collaborate with Portfolio Managers, and provide comprehensive wealth management solutions to an appreciative and growing client base.

Education, Experience and Certification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in a business discipline
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation required
Minimum Qualifications:
Deep knowledge of primary financial planning concepts
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and track multiple tasks to meet deadlines

Position Specific Responsibilities, Duties and Competencies

- Financial Planning:
Work as a team with Portfolio Managers to create, update, and present sophisticated recommendations on complex financial planning topics
Manage & refine the Financial Planning Process on an ongoing basis, to include the internal planning process as well as the client experience
Solve complicated financial planning, insurance, tax, retirement, and estate problems
Partner with community professionals: CPAs, estate planning attorneys, insurance professionals, etc.
Provide technical expertise in the use of the firm’s financial planning and investment management software: MoneyGuidePro® and Morningstar
Research, develop, implement, and document new processes and procedures
Train and assist portfolio managers on financial plan generation, technical skills, and client presentation techniques
Manage the collection, organization, and review of data gathered from clients for financial planning
Be involved with the data entry into financial planning software and the production of accurate financial planning reports suitable for presentation
Review and approve all client deliverables
Lead client meetings & financial plan presentations, ensure the quality and integrity of the client financial plan
Ensure that financial plans are kept current and up to date with ongoing maintenance, as appropriate
Hold Discovery Meetings with financial planning clients to ascertain and quantify goals and gather data needed for the financial planning process.
Perform analysis utilizing Morningstar® and MoneyGuide Pro, Word, Excel, and other software.
Determine recommendations that are customized to the clients’ goals, risk tolerance and specific investments.
Hold Presentation Meetings to communicate the results of the financial planning process to clients in conjunction with the Portfolio Manager
Provide financial planning consulting to both clients and Portfolio Managers thru financial planning conversations.
Occasionally meet with existing SWM & SWB clients to review their financial plans.
Support Portfolio Manager efforts to generate new business and pursue referrals as well as proactively market SWM Financial Planning independently.
Personnel Administration: No employees supervised.
Public Relations:
Promote the improvement of Stockman Wealth Management through quality client service, promotion of products, professionalism in conduct and diligent work ethic.
Greet all clients pleasantly and make them feel welcome and comfortable.
Effectively handle client questions and problems.
Represent SWM and Stockman Bank in community activities as needed.
- Firm Guidelines and Regulations:
Maintain a working knowledge of Stockman Wealth Management’s written Polices and Procedures and Code of Ethics.
Strong knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
Maintain a working knowledge of federal regulations that apply to and concern this position’s area of responsibility, including the Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, USA Patriot Act and various other Federal and State regulations as they apply.
