Electric System Data & Geospatial Analyst
Location preferred in Missoula, but will consider Butte or Helena
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, GIS or Engineering
- Creativity in problem-solving and strong analytical skills
- Efficient and productive in creating GIS mapping, geospatial analysis and visualization products
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (advanced proficiency), Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, including VBA
- Intermediate level knowledge of SQL DML
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Ability to travel to trainings, meetings, and various divisions (up to 15% travel per year)
- At least two years of related experience or training within process analysis is preferred
- Previous experience working with SAP software is preferred
- Previous experience with Tableau and Analysis for Office is preferred
- Some knowledge of statistics is preferred
- Ability to pass a drug test and a background check
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Perform productivity analyses and reporting for management support
- Perform monthly budget analyses to support Electric Maintenance and Vegetation management in ensuring departments execute work plans within approved budgets
- Coordinate and/or respond to requests by Distribution Operations departments for enhancements and revisions to reports and processes
- Conduct or contribute to meetings to provide input and updates to on-going projects and processes
- Perform analysis on data collection from processes
- Accurately enter data into the Geographic Information System (GIS) database
- Produce GIS mapping, geospatial analysis and visualization products
- Utilize different analysis tools on existing data to ensure proper attribution and connectivity
- Review and analyze GIS reports and data to best utilize the information
- Support users on operation of GIS/ESRI applications and databases
- Actively engage in the greater GIS community, staying aware of new tools, technology/opportunity
- Help evaluate utility hazards, risks and vulnerabilities
- Conduct risk-based assessments and identify risks and process gaps in existing process/procedures
- Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
- Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Full-time position.
$52,700 - $118,900 annually, depending on experience.
