A-1 FIRE SERVICES HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR in MISSOULA, Montana

A-1 Fire Services is seeking to hire a HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR for wildland fire season, to operate Skidgen and FMC Soft Tracks. Prefer someone that has logging experience, or steep terrain experience. Must have current year Standards of Survival training (RT-130) or possible training available, plus be able to walk a one-mile walk in 16 minutes. Requires current driver's license and a reasonably Clean Driving Record. Pay begins when truck is dispatched to fire and ends when you return and park truck in driveway. Must be ready to go to work on short notice. Must have 8" leather boots with leather laces, vibram type sole, no steel toe. Hours/Days are variable, depending on Season. Wage averages $450 to $550 per day, depending on experience.
