Missoula Development Service Corp (MDSC) is seeking a HOUSEHOLD ASSISTANT. This position is primarily responsible for routine household tasks such as housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation in a group home with adults with intellectual disabilities. Assists clients with meal preparation in accordance with eating protocols.Primary duties are meal preparation, laundry, and cleaning of the assigned area. Shares pertinent specific information about each client such as their likes, dislikes, and needs to achieve a comprehensive individualized plan of support.Cleans and maintain clients adaptive equipment within correct protocols and guidelines. Maintains client and co-worker confidentiality.Ensures that clients respect and dignity are upheld Ability to work as a team with co-workers on all shifts in a respectful manner to provide a supportive work environment for clients.Ability to problem solve when issues arise and seek creative and new ideas to better serve the clients.This position requires that a person remain calm in critical situations, listen carefully to others perspectives, and foster a sense of cooperation between themselves and their team.Ability to remain flexible to client needs and gain knowledge of clients needs and desires.Attends all mandatory staff meetings.Qualifications: Experience with meal preparation in a clinical or restaurant setting preferred. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. Frequently required to sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop kneel, crouch, and crawl. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.Schedule Expectations: Available to work a variety of shifts, primarily weekday evenings and weekend days and evenings Must work a minimum of 3 shifts per week. Staff will meet with their manager once per week (via phone, e-mail or in person) and provide availability for the next two weeks of time.
