Williams Plumbing / Civil Construction HVAC Lead Installer - Missoula in Missoula, Montana
Williams Plumbing (https://willplumb.com/) in Missoula is looking for an experienced HVAC technician with a strong background in refrigeration and controls in supporting our new construction team. This position will work with a variety of HVAC systems in commercial new construction, warranty, remodels, and retrofits. It requires well-rounded installation abilities in HVAC equipment, refrigeration, controls, and light ductwork.
What You'll Do:
Install a wide range of HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation units, in commercial settings.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to determine equipment specifications and installation requirements.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to plan and execute HVAC installations effectively.
Assemble and connect components such as compressors, motors, ducts, pipes, and communication wiring in accordance with design specifications and local/state building codes.
Inspect and troubleshoot equipment for potential issues, and make necessary adjustments or repairs during the installation process.
Test HVAC systems to ensure proper functionality, including temperature and humidity control, air distribution, and overall performance.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client questions and concerns, explaining system operations, and offering maintenance recommendations.
Maintain accurate daily records of installed equipment, work performed, and materials used for each project.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment for yourself, fellow team members, and clients.
Stay up to date with industry advancements, technological innovations, and building codes related to HVAC systems and installations.
What You Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of HVAC trade school or apprenticeship program preferred.
Proven experience as an HVAC Installer, with a demonstrated ability to handle commercial or residential projects.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills related to HVAC systems and components.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools necessary for HVAC installation.
Working knowledge of local and state building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues during installations.
Effective communication skills to interact with team members, clients, and project stakeholders.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.
Ability to work in various weather conditions, heights, and in confined spaces.
EPA Universal certification for handling refrigerants is required.
NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is a plus.
OSHA10 certification is required.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
