NORTHWESTERN ENERGY Project Development Engineer in MISSOULA, Montana

Location open to all service locations in Montana and South Dakota will be considered (Billings, Bozeman, Butte, Great Falls, Helena, Missoula)

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Working knowledge or experience in real world applications for developing engineered solutions
  • Valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to lift and carry office supplies up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to travel to jobsites, off-site meetings and trainings (up to 25% travel per year) including overnight stays when necessary
  • Ability to pass an employment physical, a drug test and a background check
  • Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer's License is preferred
  • Working knowledge of modeling software preferred experience with SAP, line design, Winflow and DDS is a plus
  • Knowledge of International Fuel Gas Code, NESC, NEC, and the DOT. Part 191 and 192 is a plus

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Use sound analytical skills to model, analyze, propose solutions for growth and recommend long range strategies for customer/load growth
  • Maintain compliance with all related standards including industry and regulatory
  • Prepare presentations and present to management and/or customers
  • Coordinate projects between stakeholders from other affected departments
  • Provide engineering for growth, expansion and extensions projects
  • Provide project oversite
  • Perform computer related functions such as engineering analysis, drawing, spreadsheets, and database compilations
  • Perform or assist with marketing analysis, financial models and revenue requirements
  • Respond to customer growth/expansion request, including site visits
  • Survey and inspect routes
  • Ensure that cost estimates meet company standards and current tariffs
  • Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
  • Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives

Full-time position.

$62,900 - $135,200 annually, depending on experience.
