MFB&CC utilizes a compensation plan that ensures equitable, competitive, and transparent compensation. Volunteer vision benefits.Position Overview:PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:· Managerial experience in related field.· Two years of work experience in a non-profit organization, retail environment, or closely related direct-service operation preferred.· Experience with food purchase and food sourcing, inventory systems and warehouse/facility management preferred.REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:· Safely drive large delivery trucks in a variety of settings (city driving, university campus, alleys, loading docks, etc.) and in all weather conditions. Must have a valid MT State driving license and a clean driving record.· Work collaboratively within a team environment and have a willingness to assist other co-workers and volunteers with a wide range of tasks as needed.· Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of people including other staff, volunteers, clients, vendors, donors, social service agencies, businesses and the general public.· Demonstrate organizational skills and detail-oriented ability to support the balance of responsibilities including inventory management, vendor contacts, delivery arrivals, and more.· Be self-motivated, self-directed, and take initiative in performing a wide variety of tasks in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.· Proficiency in the operation of common computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Outlook. Maintain databases and learn new applications as necessary.· Obtain forklift training within 10 working days. Safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other small equipment as it relates to warehouse management.· Obtain ServSafe certification within 30 days and adhere to safe food handling practices.· Be open-minded and flexible with regard to the work performed.· Exercise safe workplace policies and procedures and effectively communicate adherence of policies to volunteers and other staff.SPECIAL JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:· Be physically active, standing and/or walking for long periods of time; bend, twist, kneel and stoop; pull, push or carry heavy objects, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.· Frequently climb in and out of delivery trucks and work outside in a range of all-season weather conditions (driving and collection of food occupies approximately 25% of the workload).· Perform the essential functions of the position with reasonable accommodation.· Work within a range of temperature-controlled environments including but not limited to handling cold or frozen items and moving products in walk-in coolers and freezers.· Be available for occasional weekend work.· Protective, close-toed footwear will be required.· Background checks are required. Felony offenses of sexual or violent nature may disqualify an applicant from employment.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:· Assess organizational food and supply needs and source and purchase food accordingly.· Manage Sortly inventory system and daily inventory of warehouse food product and provide end of year food inventory for annual audit.· Collaborate with team members to ensure as much purchasing as possible of local and culturally relevant foods.· Develop and oversee facility maintenance and cleaning plans in collaboration with Facilities Coordinator and share information about routine and emergency maintenance processes with Management Team and with other Warehouse Staff.· Participate in creating the annual purchasing budget and manage the purchasing budget.· Supervise and provide support for the Facilities Coordinator, the Warehouse and Operations Assistant, and the Part-Time Warehouse Assistant.· Work directly with the Warehouse Team to organize the warehouse and Store facility.· Coordinate timely pick-up and delivery of non-perishable and perishable food from a variety of locations on both a daily and less frequent schedule, including grocery rescue pick-ups, MFBN, CSFP, and more.· Follow all requirements in complying with the Missoula City-County Health Department regarding food safety and handling, cleaning and sanitation, food storage, and reporting potential food safety issues to the Director of Operations.· Support Facilities Coordinator to maintain the organization and cleanliness of all MFB&CC facilities. All facilities must be managed according to the standards of OSHA, the health department, and any other pertinent monitoring agencies.· Support Facilities Coordinator to maintain equipment necessary for safe food warehousing including but not limited to the forklift, refrigerators, freezers, and walk-in cooler. Monitor procedures for daily temperature logs of refrigeration units in the on-site and off-site warehouse and store facility.· Be second point of contact for refrigeration and freezer alarms.· Track food item purchasing and weights and maintain monthly data for purchased and government sourced food including TEFAP and CSFP food items (sources and destination).· Communicate workplace safety requirements to staff and volunteers.· Coordinate & rebuild food recovery efforts of the Food Circle program including general oversight of prepared and perishable donated food recovery, repackaging, safe food handling, and redistribution of prepared and perishable food.· Coordinate logistics for purchasing, pick-up, staging, and warehousing storage of food for Let’s Talk Turkey distribution, Holiday Food Drive, Letter Carrier Drive, and other food drives throughout the year.· Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers, donors, volunteers and the public at large.· Engage in Management Team discussions and support and communicate organizational decisions, including moving forward equity efforts.· Other duties as assigned.
