Summary/Objective

The SSVF Outreach Coordinator will act as a community liaison for the organization, developing and maintaining relationships with other agencies and community partners and providing education to the SSVF program and VOANR.

Essential Functions

  • Connects SSVF with new community partners to offer supportive services to veteran households.

  • Maintains and updates a database of active community supports to link low-income and/or homeless veteran households with available community resources.

  • Acts as a community liaison for the organization, maintaining a caseload of community partner contacts and cultivating relationships with these contacts via phone calls, emails, meetings, site visits, and presentations throughout the year.

  • Establishes and maintains a collaborative working relationship with community resources, attends and participates in appropriate CoC and other community resource meetings.

  • Assist with coordination of speakers, marketing materials, and outgoing communication regarding the SSVF Program Outreach to community partners.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel will be necessary with this position.

Required Education, Experience , or Eligibility Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree with a minimum of two years of case management experience or closely related experience

Or

  • High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four years of case management experience or closely related field experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Behavioral Science, or related field with one (1) year of case management and/or supervisory experience.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and complete a Federal Criminal Background Check with approved status.
