State of Montana Video Gambling Machine Inspector in Missoula, Montana

Division Overview: TheGambling Control Division (GCD)was formed by the State legislature in 1989 to ensure the proper gambling environment in the state. Our 46 employees work diligently each day to protect the businesses, players, organizations, citizens, and all who are affected by legalized gambling in Montana. Because of the nature of this billion-dollar industry, it is highly regulated. Our mission is accomplished through licensing, permitting, auditing, inspecting, investigating, testing, and prosecuting. In addition to gambling regulation, GCD works with the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division to provide licensing, auditing, and investigative services. GCD investigations also provide services to the Department of Revenue for tobacco tax enforcement. Regulation of what some may consider three common vices – gambling, alcohol, and tobacco – creates a diverse and interesting mission in which every day is a new challenge! Job Overview: TheElectronics Inspectorwill be responsible for: * Managing inspections of half the permitted video gambling machines (VGMs) and Tier I systems in Montana. * Serving as a technical resource on VGMs, Tier I systems, and audit storage devices (ASDs) for regional compliance specialists, auditors, and tax and licensing specialists. * Assisting in investigating reported hardware and software malfunctions and after-hours gambling. * Assist licensed gambling establishments with troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining VGMs. /This position is open until filled./ *Minimum Qualifications: * *Associate degree or two-year vocational training. * Two years of service/technician experience in the gambling industry. * Valid drivers license. * Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. *Preferred Qualifications: * *Experience with multiple VGM platforms. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * *Knowledge of electronic principles, theory, and testing. * Knowledge of compliance techniques and practices. *Special Instructions: * The selection procedures to be used in evaluating the applicant's qualification may include, but are not limited to, an evaluation of the résumé and cover letter, a structured interview, performance test, academic transcripts, reference/background checks and fingerprint checks.
