Audience Engagement Specialist
This position can be fully remote in the United States for the right candidate!
We are looking for an Audience Engagement Specialist to join our Aspencore team and to help us better understand our readership and build loyal audience. The ideal candidate should be a strong writer with a nuanced grasp of social media and the ability to draw actionable insights from data analytics. They must be able to meet deadlines and juggle competing demands on their time.
What You'll Be Doing:
Use analytics to tell us more about who our audience is, and how and why they use our content. Work data team to help us understand and expand our readership and help our journalism have greater impact.
Manage social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. This involves working with our editorial team on producing all the copy for each account, and ensuring that we have a lively and engaging daily feed of content.
Work with the newsroom to maximize search engine optimization; help to workshop SEO-optimized headlines; work with our editorial team to optimize our search terms.
Work with the newsroom on audience engagement strategies tied to specific stories and key audience segments
Attract and acquire new audiences and deepen engagement with them—including social, search, email and third-party. Establish best practices in the newsroom for audience cultivation and engagement.
Work with Aspencore staffers to grow their presence on social media, and strategize on how best to tell stories via social.
In close partnership with the newsroom, curate and update newsletters to build new audiences and subscribers.
Helps grow newsletter lists with the goal of converting readers to subscribers
Works closely with reporters, editors and digital staffers to improve newsletter subject lines, content and other offerings
Stays on top of newsletter industry trends and can act quickly to adapt them to our newsroom
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field
A minimum of 2 years of proven track record in writing, managing and supporting social accounts.
Familiarity with business to business publishing and electronics and technology news organizations.
Expert knowledge of social media trends and best practices for organic and paid posts.
Familiarity with user experience and SEO content strategies
Ability to analyze key performance metrics; experience with native social analytics.
Experience with Chartbeat, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics or equivalent
Experience with Social Listening Platforms, such as Sprouts, HootSuite, Sprinklr, or equivalent
Experience with newsletter KPIs and marketing automation platforms
Strong writing and editing skills with keen attention to details

Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate:
$45,000.00 - $55,000.00
Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
