Mars Regional Account Manager West in Montana

Territory : Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Washington & Utah

candidate Location: ideally Billings or Bozeman, MT

Purpose of Role

Regional Account Manager is a field sales position responsible for executing the store level strategy for Regional Key Accounts and Independent sales activities within a set geographic area with Gross Sales Value (GSV) accountability of >$5M.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Develop strong customer relationships by calling on assigned stores at least 85% of the time.

  • Ensure proper field sales account coverage and account level activities for all active accounts identified within territory.

  • Achieve GSV growth goals for assigned territory.

  • Execute promotional activities, plan-o-grams, and seminars to achieve business metrics for each account within territory.

  • Communicate all promotional and trade spend activities to Distributor Representatives within the territory.

  • Responsible for territory growth through store execution of displays, and on-shelf presentation in all stores.

  • Responsible for participation in dog, cat, and trade shows in territory.

  • Demonstrate a quality culture in actions, words and spirit.

  • Understanding of financial metrics (GSV, NSV, earnings, and trade spend)

  • Presentation skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four year degree or equivalent outside sales experience

  • Minimum field sales experience 1-2 years

  • Experience in managing overhead and trade spend budgets

  • Role requires the associate to spend 85% of time in territory stores (40-50% - overnight travel)

  • Ability to lift 40lbs onto store shelves and displays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four year degree or equivalent outside sales experience

  • Minimum field sales experience 1-2 years

  • Experience in managing JBP with key accounts and trade spend budgets

  • Understanding of distributors
