Ankura Revenue Manager, Accounting, ABS in Montana

This is a great opportunity to be part of Ankura’s fast-growing accounting and finance team. The Manager of Revenue is a remote role and will be primarily responsible for leading a team that performs the accounting for revenue recognition, client receivables and related areas of accounting for the firm. This person will manage the month-end close process over revenue, deferred revenue and unbilled accounts receivable and ensure accuracy and completeness or the firm’s financials. They will hold key relationships with client-facing business groups within the firm as well as interface with our external tax and audit teams. This person will also support the financial planning and analysis team with analysis of the business group revenue results on a monthly basis.

The Manager of Revenue will be required to have strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and other technical accounting areas in accounting. The ideal candidate will be someone that likes to challenge processes and leverage best practices, someone who enjoys a full and sometimes deadline-driven, day and has excellent analytical as well as dashboarding skills. They will have six or more years of relevant experience and have demonstrated exceptional competencies through previous employment performance.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee global monthly revenue close process including the review of contracts and timely and accurate reporting of revenue results

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior management

  • Oversee month-end reconciliation of all revenue, unbilled accounts receivable and deferred revenue accounts, and analyze fluctuations in these accounts

  • Prepare and review journal entries for manual adjustments to related accounts as needed

  • Support annual audit and quarterly reviews by providing external auditors with requested documentation for revenue transactions being tested

  • Identify and implement best practices within the revenue team


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. Licensed CPA required.

  • Six to ten years of accounting and finance experience, ideally with a few years in Big 4 or national accounting firms

  • Solid experience accounting for complex financial and high-volume transactions

  • Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills with thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Technology savvy with intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages and Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel and Power BI/dashboarding tools

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of ASC 606 principles

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with peers and all levels of management.

  • Strong organizational skills. Effective in prioritizing work and following through on commitments.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills – ability to determine solutions and alternative solutions based on the situation.

  • Positive attitude and a high level of enthusiasm.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative work environment


Limited travel (<10%) to visit non-local team members and to attend meetings as necessary.
