We regularly advise boards of directors, members of the C-suite, general counsel, outside counsel, IT leaders, and other stakeholders at all stages of any cyber incident.
Role Overview
The Proactive Services Assessment & Cloud SME will provide experience-based recommendations on the setup and configuration of cloud architectures and cloud migration plans, with a focus on AWS and/or Azure, M365, and/or GCP.
Responsibilities
Evaluate Client’s Cloud architecture and security based upon cloud frameworks or regulations
Assess and compare cloud service offerings from AWS, Microsoft 365 and Azure or GCP to identify threats, risks, and controls to secure the services.
Evaluate our clients’ cloud programs, architecture, and security based upon a recognized framework or regulation such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, FedRAMP, HIPAA Security Rule, PCI Data Security Standard, ISO Standards, etc.
Define prioritized, experienced-based recommendations on how security controls are applied to cloud-based technologies, including architecture and networking, identity and access management, data protection, logging detection and response, security controls for containers.
Build a deep understanding of each client’s organization to guide them in identifying, analyzing and addressing cyber related threats and risks in the cloud environment.
Generate consistent and thorough documentation to support processes executed throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop, review, and enhance cloud-related information security policies and procedures and provide guidance to clients regarding best practices.
Formalize and deliver recommendations, reports, and presentations for clients.
Develop recommendation road maps to help clients prioritize security improvements.
Assist in writing and presenting materials to clients throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Evaluate and recommend improvements to secure configuration of on-premise servers, routers, firewalls, and switches (preferred experience with Nipper, Nessus, and Meraki FWs).
Conduct internal vulnerability assessments on client-environments (preferred experience with Nessus and Tenable.io).
Qualifications
Undergraduate or advanced degree in computer science, cybersecurity, MSIS or the equivalent work experience.
2 - 5 years of experience with cloud engineering or architecture, preferably, in AWS, Azure and Google Cloud within Cybersecurity
A strong understanding of cloud service providers: AWS, Azure and/or GCP.
A strong understanding of cloud container platforms such as Kubernetes (AKS / EKS) and/or Dockers.
Familiarity with NIST or ISO cybersecurity frameworks and/ or risk assessment methodology.
Can demonstrate knowledge of common vulnerabilities and security weaknesses associated with virtual machines and container deployment systems.
Experience designing and implementing network security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection, encryption, monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and authentication.
Desired Qualifications
The following additional qualifications are preferred, but not required:
AWS and/or Azure Certification,
EnCase, CFCE or CISSP, SANS, CISA, PMP, and/or similar certification(s), and/or
Familiarity with Cloud Security Alliance Framework (https://cloudsecurityalliance.org).
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, or New York, Ankura is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the said markets and considers a broad range of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The range does not include additional benefits outside of salary. At Ankura, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each role. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range is between $65,000 to $155,000; this range is not a promise of a particular wage.
