CSKT ECS Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher in PABLO, Montana
The Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher (Early Headstart, EHS) functions as a primary caregiver/educator who plans, organizes and conducts a full range of developmentally appropriate activities for up to four (4) assigned children that are 6 weeks through 3 years of age (including children with special needs) plus carrying out secondary caregiving responsibilities for up to an additional four (4) children. The Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher (EHS) promotes each child's growth and development by creating and implementing a developmentally appropriate environment in which children can develop personal relationships, experiment, make choices, solve problems, and develop age-appropriate social and self-help skills. The Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher (EHS) works to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly physical environment; oversees all classroom activities; participates in parent education and shares responsibility for parent involvement. Duties: Implements Early Head Start goals, policies, and activities designed to promote the social-emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development of children birth to 3 years of age utilizing Head Start Program Performance Standards, EHS/HS Mission Statements, EHS Policy Manual, and the Montana Child Care Regulations. Promotes, encourages, and guides a classroom environment that is educational, safe, healthy, and caring. Functions as a contributing member of the ECS team interacting with and supporting administrative requirements specific to the ECS Program. Supports the goal of fostering an ECS Program that is "customer friendly" and encourages parent participation. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:- 18 years of age or older (per ARM 37.95.622) - Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education OR a degree in a related field and 6 courses in early childhood education including one course in child development OR a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Infant/Toddler Caregivers. - Two (2) years documented experience working with infants and toddlers, ages birth to 3 years in a formal early childhood setting such as an Early Head Start classroom, a childcare facility, etc. - Must have or obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 3 months of hire. - Able to meet/complete requirements for primary caregiver according to Montana Child Care Center Regulations within one (1) year of employment (if required). - Possess and maintain a current Montana Driver's License and be insurable under the Tribes' Fleet Policy. - Possess current CPR and First Aid certification with Infant/Child endorsement or be willing to obtain upon hire.- Health Requirements: Current Physical Exam or ability to obtain Physical Exam upon hire. Current on required immunizations or ability to become current upon hire. Verification of recent TB screening or ability to complete required screen.- Must pass drug test and complete a Criminal Record Check including fingerprinting (no violence against children or any person, no domestic violence, no sexual abuse or violent acts against children or any other person) prior to employment and every 2 years thereafter; subject to random drug testing through the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe's Personnel Department.
