CSKT Prescribed Fire & Fuels Specialist in PABLO, Montana
Following established procedures, plans and directs studies which monitor and analyze fire behavior parameters which include rate of spread, fire intensity, and fire weather for all prescribed fire activities. Participates in the analysis, interpretation, and evaluation of fuels data and provides input into the development of fuels management operations actions planning. Implements prescribed fire activities, wildland fire use and fuels management activities to ensure targets are achieved, management objectives are met and mitigation measures are adequate. Monitors fire behavior, evaluates fire effects, identifies potential problems and takes appropriate action. Reviews or proposed road systems for condition and recommends improvements and upgrades needed.
MINIMUM RECRUITING QUALIFICATIONS AS REFLECTED ON TRIBAL EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION: Bachelor's degree with major study in forestry, range management, agriculture, or a natural resources subject-matter field directly related to the position. Two (2) years of specialized experience as a Prescribed Fire and Fuels Technician, and/or Forestry Technician, and/or Forestry Technician (Fire/Fuels), or higher graded position that provides the incumbent with knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform duties of the position.
