Seeker must have experience in working with families in a home based setting is preferred but not required. Must also possess a valid Montana drivers license, access to a vehicle, and proper liability insurance and have knowledge of local culture groups and knowledge regarding issues impacting low income families. This position will have various hours depending on referralsSeeker is responsible to work directly with families in the home environment to improve the physical and mental well-being of children who are at risk of being abused/neglected. Duties include assistance in strengthening the parent-child relationship through improving parenting skills and increasing independent function of the caregiver. This is accomplished by establishing a trusting relationship with at-risk families by initiating and maintaining regular client contact. The person in this position will assist in establishing a case plan with goals, objectives, and activities with family. They will use observations of family dynamics to identify dysfunction and implement appropriate interventions. Skills needed are working knowledge of parent-child interaction and child development materials, and the dynamics of child abuse and neglect, and being able to consistently apply this information in working with families.
