Kalispell Regional Healthcare Practice Lead - Polson Family Clinic in Polson, Montana

Overview

Promotes a positive and professional practice image. Performs a variety of medically related administrative, accounting and billing tasks to facilitate the smooth flow of patients through the practice. Oversees efficient functioning of patient registration, scheduling, check in, check out, telephone reception and physician support.

Responsibilities

  1. *Provides leadership and oversight for assigned staff.

  2. *Makes recommendations regarding implementation of practice policy regarding scheduling, registration, customer service and workflow.

  3. *Maintains knowledge regarding implications of controlling costs and generating revenue.

  4. *Serves as a patient advocate.

  5. *Oversees time-of-service collections. Oversees registration, scheduling and check in/check out processes. Works with assigned staff to ensure accurate entry/verification of patient demographics and insurance information in Meditech computer systems.

  6. *Works with the department leadership to ensure that the practice is run smoothly and efficiently for the patients and providers.

  7. *Works with physicians, mid-levels and support staff to ensure that patients have a positive experience.

  8. *Assists practice leadership with duties including, but not limited to; coordination of daily schedules, maintaining credentialing information, purchasing, inventory management and monthly reporting duties.

  9. *Coordinates daily activities of assigned staff.

  10. *Provides feedback to leadership in regards to job performance for assigned staff evaluations. Assists leadership with hiring process, ongoing training and orientation.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a medical office, clinic or other healthcare setting required. Secondary or vocational education in healthcare preferred.

  2. Prior experience using modern office methods, office equipment, operations and process.

  3. Experience with medical terminology and abbreviations, various medical forms, reports and processing methods. Knowledge and understanding of medical billing procedures. Must be knowledgeable with ICD-10, CPT and HCPC coding regulations. Possess a basic understanding of financial reporting preferred.

  4. Possess an understanding of confidentiality laws that govern the provider-patient relationship including but not limited to HIPAA guidelines.

  5. Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel, and ability to learn other software as needed. Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred.

  6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.

  7. Must communicate effectively and maintain cooperative relationships with providers, staff members, patients and the medical community.

  8. Possess leadership capabilities and can evaluate and institute problem solving on a daily basis.
