FORT PECK TRIBES Correctional Officer in POPLAR, Montana

To apply for this position you have to have a high school diploma or GED and a valid Montana driver's license. All applicants are required to pass a background check before selection. The employer is seeking someone with a basic knowledge of correctional theory and techniques, commonly used federal and tribal laws, codes and orders governing the incarceration of juvenile criminal offenders. Will be working a rotating schedule of 40 hours per week with varying days off each week. The successful applicant must have the ability to supervise and instruct juvenile inmates and adults, as well as to learn standards and operational description as published in Title 25 of the Code of Federal Regulations, 69 Bureau of Indian Affairs Manual and the Department of the Interior. The Incumbent of this position is responsible for the first line supervision of criminal offenders in detention/correctional institutions or rehabilitation facilities. The successful applicant will be required to maintain discipline and ensure that detainees are released from the facility according to established regulations and operational descriptions.
