PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITION

The primary purpose of you job position is to provide clean linen and personal laundry to all

departments of the hospital and nursing home.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  1. Is subject to sitting, bending, standing, and lifting during working hours.

``` 4. Is subject to hostile, emotionally upset patients, residents, and visitors.

``` 5. Must be willing to work in all areas of the facility.

``` 6. Must be willing to work beyond normal working hours, weekends, and holidays.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Knowledge of institutional cleaning helpful.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Must be able to work flexible hours.
  2. Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  3. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  4. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  5. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with patients, family members, physicians and co-workers.
  6. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
  7. .Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
  8. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  9. Must display ability to maintain absolute confidentiality at all times.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Duties are sorting, washing, drying, folding and distributing linen and personal laundry. Inspecting for wear and stains. Must be able to work with all departments of the Hospital and Nursing home as needed.
  2. Special or isolation laundering.

``` 1. Work with nursing staff to coordinate and schedule laundry.

``` 1. Follow procedures for each case.

``` 1. Follow instructions given to Laundry Supervisor.

```{=html}

``` 3. Make sure equipment is in working order.

``` 1. Report to department supervisor and maintenance for problems with equipment.

```{=html}

``` 1. Notify department supervisor immediately.

```{=html}

``` 4. Assure adequate supplies are available.

```{=html}

``` 1. Make recommendations to department supervisor on quantity needed.

```{=html}

``` 1. Notify Department Supervisor when supplies are low or problem exists.

```{=html}

``` 5. Keep equipment and work area clean daily.

```{=html}

``` 6. Attend in-service program.

```{=html}

``` 1. Attend monthly department and safety meetings.

```{=html}

``` 1. Attend all in-service programs per year.

```{=html}

``` 7. Abides by all Polices of Northeast Montana Health Services.

``` 1. All Environmental Services Polices. 2. All Personnel Policies. 3. All OSHA Regulations. 4. All Cooperate Compliance 5. All HIPAA 6. All Hazcom/Blood Borne Pathogens
