S&K Electronics in Pablo is hiring full time Assemblers. The basic function of the Assembler is to perform assembly tasks on a variety of electronic and mechanical assemblies to standards and specifications required by a given project. Special Conditions This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the S&K Electronics, Inc. Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy PPpo-140. The successful applicant, if not already employed by SKE, must pass a pre-hire drug test. Incumbents will be subject to random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion testing. Requirements: A. Education Required: High School Diploma, GED or experience. Preferred: Certification in Level III Soldering and / or Cable Assembly experience B. Experience None required. C. Skill, Knowledge and Ability The Assembler is responsible for efficiently performing assembly operations, to include the ability to learn and interpret drawings, read and follow work order instructions, and possess basic math skills. D. Physical Body Position: Standing, sitting Body Movements: Using proper lifting technique, lift and carry assemblies, fixtures and/or trays or tubs of parts for short distances without mechanical assistance. These items may weigh up to 30 pounds. Use of hands, arms, legs, and eyes. E. Mental Requires reading, writing, basic math, and oral communication. Employee must be able to work with deadlines. F. Working Conditions Light manufacturing shop environment in which electrical equipment and hazardous chemicals represent a minimal risk to health. Reporting Relationship The Assembler position reports directly to the Production Coordinator, working under general supervision and is expected to exercise initiative and resourcefulness in meeting the responsibilities of the position. The Assembler is encouraged to investigate and suggest assembly techniques and methods to increase assembly efficiency but shall generally be limited from exercising independent judgment in implementing such techniques without prior approval. Authority The Assembler position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities A. Perform all assembly activities assigned by the Production Coordinator. B. Maintain accurate timekeeping records of work performed. C. Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner. D. Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) duties as required by task. E. Maintain necessary resources to accomplish assigned tasks. F. Maintain an effective working relationship with all S&K employees. G. Follow work instructions provided for each task. If work instructions include lifting, request assistance from co-worker or supervisor when instructions specify a two-person lift. H. Pay attention to the details of assigned tasks ensuring no delays in projects. I. Perform other duties as assigned. Wage starts at $15 per hour. Higher wage based upon experience. Schedule: Monday through Thursday (Four ten-hour days)
