S&K Electronics in Pablo is hiring full time Manufacturing Engineer. The basic function of the Manufacturing Engineer is to provide the necessary technical expertise, planning, direction, organization and control to meet the goals of the Company. Special Conditions This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the S&K Electronics, Inc. Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy, PPpo-140. The successful applicant, if not already employed by SKE, must pass a pre-hire drug test. Incumbents will be subject to random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion testing. Requirements A. Education Required: Bachelor of Science Degree in an applicable discipline Preferred: Continuing education in chosen field B. Experience A minimum of 3 years experience in electronics manufacturing or related field, 5 years experience is preferred C. Skill, Knowledge and Abilities Able to demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and communications skills in a manufacturing environment. Knowledgeable in general business and management principles especially in relation to shop-floor purchase decisions. D. Physical Body Position: Standing and sitting. Body Movements: Carrying, use of hands, eyes, arms and voice. E. Mental Requires excellent command of the English language in reading, writing, spelling and oral communications. Strong math and computer skills, the ability to problem-solve and provide leadership. F. Working Condition Light manufacturing shop environment in which electrical equipment and hazardous chemicals are used that represent a minimal risk to health. Reporting Relationships A. The Manufacturing Engineer reports to the Manufacturing Manager. B. The Manufacturing Engineer position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Authority The Manufacturing Engineer works under general supervision of the Manufacturing Manager but is expected to exercise independent judgment in meeting the responsibilities of the position. The incumbent is required to provide documented analysis and recommendations for continuous process improvement and enhanced shop-floor practices without specific day-to-day direction. Responsibilities The principal responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer consist of, but are not limited to, the following: A. Analysis of manufacturing equipment capabilities and outputs. B. Evaluate new and existing manufacturing processes and operations for improvement. C. Evaluate Company products for quality and manufacturability. D. Evaluate and interpret project technical drawing packages for assembly requirements and equipment or manpower needs. E. Research component and tooling as required. F. Perform tool, harness board, and fixture design and build as required. G. Review and apply applicable Mil-Specs, ANSI/J-Std, IPC requirements, etc. H. Develop work instructions. I. Provide equipment and Manufacturing training to the manufacturing operators and management. J. Provide project labor, equipment and Manufacturing estimations for quotation and budgetary purposes. K. Other duties as required by the job or assigned by the Manufacturing Manager on a temporary or extended basis Salary: Starts at $50K annually; higher salary depends upon experience.
