CITY OF RONAN Public Works Department Worker in RONAN, Montana
The City of Ronan will accept applications for a full time position, in the Public Works Department, until position is filled. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, be self-motivated, organized and have the ability to work with the public. This is skilled work and manual labor is involved. The employee will be cross trained within the water, street, wastewater and storm water departments. Basic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., but employee will be required to work evening or weekend hours, as necessary. Applicants will be evaluated based upon the following factors:
- work experience;
- current Water and Wastewater Certifications;
3) relevant skills and knowledge in field of work based on a review of application for employment and reference checks;
4) able to work on-call and in emergencies as needed;
5) previous municipal / DPW employment;
6) ability to operate heavy equipment for sustained periods of time;
7) mechanical and electrical skills as well as other job skills that may be required for like and similar operations;
8) operational and repair knowledge of equipment and trucks
9) ability to enter confined spaces;
10) ability to lift heavy objects.
*Successful applicant will be hired on a probationary basis and must obtain the following certifications: *
Wastewater -- Class 3C - within one (1) year from date of hire
Water Distribution -- Class 2A - within two (2) years from date of hire
Water Treatment -- Class 2B - within three (3) years from date of hire
