Daniels Memorial Hospital Radiologic Technologist w/ CT Training in Scobey, Montana

Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists RT(R) required.

Licensed in the State of Montana.

Minimum Work Experience

One year of radiologic/imaging experience required. One year experience in CT preferred but willing to train.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Have the ability to perform venipuncture duties

Be able to effectively communicate with both staff and patients and have thorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations

Have basic computer skills

Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of employment.

Essential Skills Required:

Knowledge of radiographic examinations as well as procedures that require the use of contrast agents.

Knowledge of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety.

Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning technique.

Open, accurate, and responsive communication, oral or written, on an individual basis or in groups.

Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines.

Demonstration of ethical and professional conduct.

Essential Physical Requirements:

Capability to be independently mobile.

Ability to manage physically aggressive patients.

Ability to transport patients on the patient mobilizer or in a wheelchair.

Ability to move portable x-ray machine to examination site.

Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance, reach, stoop, and bend while maintaining a good mechanical body position.

Ability to wear protective lead aprons and lead gloves during examinations.

Ability to perform tasks for a long period of time. manual dexterity sufficient to operate radiographic equipment.

Hearing and visual acuity sufficient to perform examinations, observe patients, read monitors and documents, hear equipment alarms.

Ability to work within a limited space and in bright and low-lighted examination rooms.

Ability to travel locally an elsewhere (including overnight stays) to attend seminars, etc.

Interrelationship Requirements:

Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients and families, all radiology staff, referring providers, residents, all DMHC staff, and administration who may or may not be under physical and/or emotional stress.

Frequent interaction with personnel in other departments and with vendors.

Ability to maintain confidential information.

Operates equipment and performs diagnostic and therapeutic CT and X-ray procedures on patients according to established protocols to assist the physician in diagnosis and treatment.. Performs proper x-ray exposure to aid in the diagnosis of fractures, diseases, and other injuries. Performs CT examinations with knowledgeable operation of the scanner and scan protocols.
