Daniels Memorial Hospital Radiologic Technologist w/ Echocardiogram Training in Scobey, Montana


Radiologic Technologist experienced in the field of echocardiography.

Must be licensed by the state of Montana and ARRT certified and a Registered Diagnostic Sonographer, or Registered Cardiac Sonographer.

Computed Tomography experience is also preferred but may be learned on the job.

Technologist will also learn and be expected to do Electrocardiograms, pulmonary function tests, and Holter/cardiac event monitor hookups.

Flexibility to work overtime as needed as well as on call duty.

Displays a good understanding of age-related developmental issues of pediatrics and geriatrics.

Job Description: The cardiac sonographer performs high quality diagnostic imaging using our new Philips Epiq Elite machine.

Candidate must strive to give compassionate, respectful care and possess the ability to work independently.

Must be competent and knowledgeable of cardiac structure and pathology, and relay information effectively to staff as needed.

Essential Skill Required:

Knowledge of radiographic examinations as well as procedures that require the use of contrast agents.

Knowledge of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety.

Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning technique.

Open, accurate, and responsive communication, oral or written, on an individual basis or in groups.

Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines.

Demonstration of ethical and professional conduct.

Essential Physical Requirements:

Capability to be independently mobile.

Ability to manage physically aggressive patients.

Ability to transport patients on the patient mobilizer or in a wheelchair.

Ability to move portable x-ray machine to examination site. Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance, reach, stoop, and bend while maintaining a good mechanical body position.

Ability to wear protective lead aprons and lead gloves during examinations.

Ability to perform tasks for a long period of time. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate radiographic equipment.

Hearing and visual acuity sufficient to perform examinations, observe patients, read monitors and documents, hear equipment alarms.

Ability to work within a limited space and in bright and low-lighted examination rooms.

Ability to travel locally and elsewhere (including overnight stays) to attend seminars, etc.

Interrelationship Requirements:

Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients and families, all radiology staff, referring providers, residents, all DMHC staff, and administration who may or may not be under physical and/ or emotional stress.

Frequent interaction with personnel in other departments and with vendors.

Ability to maintain confidential information.
