QUALIFICATIONS:1.High School Diploma or equivalent2.General mechanical knowledge3.Basic carpentry/drywall skills4.Basic electrical and plumbing skills5.Basic skills in operating various types of power tools and equipment6.Must have a valid Montana Driver’s license7.Must have ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds8.Be a self-starter and perform duties with little instruction from Executive DirectorJOB DESCRIPTION:The maintenance employee shall be responsible for the general upkeep of all dwellings, interior, and exterior as well as grounds maintenance. In general, the employee will perform repairs or replace defective materials, systems, etc. that may be a hazard to continued occupancy of the family. Our goal is to provide safe, sanitary, and decent housing for our residents. To do so the employee shall:1.Comply with all building codes and city health standards where applicable.2.Correct and report all safety hazards to management within 8 hours.3.Perform or oversee all repairs as needed to the following:Building envelopeUnit InteriorsPlumbing/Electrical/Heating/CoolingProject Grounds including seasonal care4.Maintain and be responsible for materials and equipment inventories (Expendable and Non-expendable) and all other Assets related to maintenance5.Inspect all public housing units at least annually6.Perform Housing Quality Standards Inspections for the HCV Program as directed by staff.7.Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
