FAIR AND RODEO RICHLAND COUNTY Richland County/ Grounds Keeper in SIDNEY, Montana

Position: Grounds Crew/Full-Time Position Department: Fair Accountable to: Grounds foreman and Fair manager Summary of work: Perform duties of maintaining the fairgrounds Job characteristics: Maintain the fairgrounds. This individual position performs physically demanding duties associated with the maintenance of the fairgrounds. Must have communication skills, strength, be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to work some weekends and some overtime. Personal contacts: Daily contact with the public. Supervision received: Daily supervision given by the Grounds Foreman and/or Fair Manager as to duties of the days work schedule. Areas of job accountability and performance: Capable of operating all equipment used in maintenance of fairgrounds and servicing of said equipment in a safe manner, perform repair work on buildings and assist in repairs to infrastructure of the fairgrounds. Perform other related duties as required to keep the fairgrounds in good maintenance (mowing, trimming, fencing, etc.), and a safe place. Janitorial duties to include: vacuuming, sweeping, mopping of floors, clean and sanitize restrooms, clean and sanitize the kitchen in the Event Center, restock supplies in restrooms, kitchens & other supply closets of the Event Center/Fairgrounds buildings. Maintain janitorial supply closets in a clean, organized, safe manner. Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe & operable condition. Proper labeling & diluting of chemical products. Empty trash & replace liners, clean receptacles as needed. Dusting & cleaning of furniture. Cleaning windows & windowsills. Wear personal protective equipment as necessary. Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways & parking areas, if needed. Set up, clean up, arrange tables, chairs, staging, etc. for events being held at the Fairgrounds facilities. Job requirements: KNOWLEDGE: This position requires learning and gaining knowledge of the Fair functions and fairgrounds usage. This position requires knowledge of general janitorial & cleaning procedures. This position requires the ability to: relate in a positive way to the public and work crew; complete janitorial/cleaning services; ability to work independently as needed; basic knowledge of cleaning products or willing to learn; be flexible to change; travel to run errands; follow verbal and written instruction; establish effective working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, and the public. This position requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items. SKILLS: Skills in communications, construction, electrical, plumbing, lawn care and the use and maintenance of equipment used. ABILITIES: This position requires the ability to operate and learn operation of equipment in a safe manner, react quickly to changing circumstances, endure weather conditions, demonstrate physical stamina, lift 50 pounds, communicate effectively orally and in writing, follow verbal and written instructions, establish effective working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors and the public. Education and experience: The knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to high school courses. Experience in this line of work preferred. Job performances standards: Evaluation of this position will be based primarily upon performance of the preceding requirements and duties.
