Retailer Assistant Store Manager in Troy, Montana

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)1) Determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.2) Ensure availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts and maintaining inventories.3) Market merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans.4) Manage all controllable costs to keep operations profitable.5) Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met.6) Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.7) Organize special promotions, displays and events.8) Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doingSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)1) Maintain operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures.2) Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.3) Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.4) Provide training to improve the knowledge base of the staff and utilize cross-training methods to maintain productivity when employees are absent.5) Deal with staffing issues such as providing or organizing training and development.TEAMWORKAll employees who accept employment in this department must demonstrate the ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of company information. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with typical sounds of a store environment. Employee should use all required personal protective equipment when appropriate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
