Oftedal Construction, Inc. Construction Superintendent in Various Locations in MT and WY, Montana
Directs all daily activities involving company resources, personnel and subcontractors associated with company construction projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSReads project contract, specifications, plans and other relevant documentation associated with assigned project. Understands and simplifies specifications & drawings for project staff and/or subcontractors responsible for executing work. On daily basis coordinates with owner, or owner’s representative, daily production and safety concerns.Staffs or delegates staffing of work force necessary to complete project.Indoctrinates and trains new employees concerning company safety policies, EEO policies, benefits and standard company procedures. Enforces all company policies. Resolves complaints and grievances voiced by project work force. Manages construction problems and makes recommendations to owner and project manager that improve construction methods, outcomes, safety and costs. Routinely inspects project to determine correct sequencing of work and survey for potential hazards or safety concerns. Inspects work in progress to ensure workmanship meets or exceeds specifications. Tracts and reviews project costs and production. Communicates to Project Manager bona fide concerns regarding marginal production and cost overruns.Coordinates and supervises daily activities of 10 to 100 people. Directs workers concerned with maintenance or repairs of onsite heavy equipment. Prioritizes on site heavy equipment repairs. Travel to and from company projects. Using Heavy Job, collects, enters and transfers project information (employee & equipment hours, load counts, etc) to appropriate location (i.e. onsite computer, Corporate HQ).Submits weekly administrative paperwork and information (purchase orders, subcontract info, etc.) to Corporate HQ.
