State of Montana Accounting Technician in Warm Springs, Montana

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity as an Accounting Technician at Montana State Hospital. TheAccounting Technicianprovides accounting support and guidance for a specified focus area such as purchasing, patient accounts, department claims, Canteen, and warehouse sales. Responsibilities include account reconciliation and maintenance, processing resident employee payroll, data entry, report preparation, and customer service. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity: * * · Knowledge of accounting principles and practices including General Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and knowledge of state procedures. · Working knowledge of office practices and procedures, recordkeeping, and filing. · Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable. · 10 Key skills preferred. · Exceptional customer service skills. · Accurate and efficient data entry skills. · Excellent Excel skills. · Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute. · Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. · Ability to multi-task and prioritize work. · Ability to operate personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including using spreadsheets, word processing, 10-key, database, email, internet, and other computer programs. · Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience): · High school diploma or equivalent. · Two years prior accounting experience. · Two years computer and data entry experience.* · Other combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. * * * How to Apply To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website.
