State of Montana Assistant Director of Nursing in Warm Springs, Montana

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity for an Assistant Director of Nursing within Montana State Hospital. * TheMontana State Hospital (MSH) in Warm Springs provides inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults with serious mental illness. MSH is the only public psychiatric hospital in Montana that serves people admitted from communities across the state. This position performs supervisory responsibilities to include: development, implementation and evaluation of procedures, education, and services for patients and staff. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * Thorough knowledge of current concepts, theories, and principles of psychiatric, medical, and infection control nursing; therapeutic communication techniques, psycho-educational methods, and materials. * Knowledge of personnel management and supervisors. * Knowledge of current practices of medications and treatment modalities used to treat mental illness and physical health issues. * Knowledge of Montana's public mental health system and laws, regulations, and standards which govern nursing practice and infection control. * Requires nursing skills in assessment, diagnosis, planning, provision, and evaluation of physical health management and therapeutic interventions. * Skill in the use of the basic instruments and equipment of the nursing profession. Meet minimum qualifications: * o Graduate of an accredited college or university degree in nursing bachelor's degree preferred. o Three (3) years job related experience. o Two (2) years supervisory experience. o Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Montana, or able to obtain a Montana license prior to the first day of work. o Other combinations of education and experience may be substituted on a case-by-case basis.
